Summary
Provides direct and indirect patient care services and serves as consultant to medical staff, ancillary staff and the community Monday through
Friday with the potential for on-call, holidays and weekends. Assumes responsibility for the supervision of staff of the inpatient speech-language pathology program.
Other Information
Working knowledge of pediatricspeech language pathology. Ability to administer and interpret developmentally appropriate,
comprehensive evaluations and communicate impressions and recommendations to referral sources and families. Excellent oral and written

Essential:
* Basic Life Support
* Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist in Alabama and CCC-SLP from ASHA
* 3 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Audology-Speech
* Masters Degree or Doctorate Degree
Responsibilities
Assumes responsibilities of inpatient SLP staff. Assists in covering clinics at all locations, as well as inpatients. Serves as spokesperson to the
clinic director and clinic management team for issues. Maintains a positive attitude in working for change within the framework of COA. Supports
the clinic management team in its activities. Develops, implements, and reviews policies and procedures. Insures that the program meets the
standards of professional organizations, accrediting agencies, and state and federal regulatory and licensing agencies. Assists the department
director in developing an annual budget and assumes responsibility for maintaining adequate records of expenses. Assumes responsibility for the
hiring and supervising of staff. Conducts annual performance reviews and skills check lists for direct reports. Schedules regular staff meetings and
semi-annual retreats with the assigned staff. Schedules in-services as needed including mandatory in-services for all new equipment. Maintains
minutes for all staff meetings and in-services including a record of attendance. Makes decisions regarding requests for PTO for direct
reports. Makes recommendations to the clinic director for travel requests. Determines the need for and monitors the adequacy of equipment,
materials, and supplies necessary for effective and efficient patient management. Supervises scheduling of calibration, repairs, and routine
maintenance of equipment. Develops, maintains, and coordinates the scheduling of inpatients, swallow studies and works with the outpatient supervisor to cover medical clincis. Assumes responsibility for developing appropriate monitors for quality improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.
