Position Summary
Applications are invited for a full-time, renewable contract Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Alabama for Fall 2026. Expected start date is August 16, 2026.


Detailed Position Information
Applications for a twelve-month Clinical Educator/Speech-Language Pathologist Renewable Contract Assistant Professor (RCAP, non-tenure track). The successful candidate will coordinate and conduct speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive evaluations and intervention for children and adults in our community. The position also carries responsibility for supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.


Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree or clinical doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, ASHA certification, and Alabama licensure (ABESPA) are required. Out-of-state applicants must be eligible for immediate licensure.


Preferred Qualifications
At least 5 years of position-relevant clinical experience is preferred. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated clinical competency in Spanish-English bilingual assessment and intervention. Additional preferred qualifications include experience working within a university setting; experience with pediatric feeding disorders; and familiarity with supervising graduate student clinicians.
