We are seeking compassionate and skilled Speech Language Pathologists to join our team for the following settings:

  1. K-8 School in Bessemer, AL.  This is a low and managable caseload with flexibility.  
  2. Early Head Start and Head Start- this position has the potential to grow to full time based on the need. SLP will be responsible for servicing children 6 months to 5 years at 4 centers in Birmingham.   

-School based SLP responsibilities will include but not limited to;  comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language and/or fluency needs, case management, collaborating with interdisiplinary team members, developing IEPs based on assessed areas of need, scheduling IEP meetings,  providing individual and/or group therapy sessions, and maintaing accurate records of student progress. 

-Early Head Start/Head Start SLP responsibilites will include but not limited to; conducting screenings as needed, conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess speech and or communication needs, collaborating with facility staff, teachers, parents/caregivers, developing goals based on areas of need, providing individual and/or group therapy sessions and maintaing accurate records of progress.  

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Licensed by Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA)
  • Certified by American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • At least one year experience working with children 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Colloborate and work as a part of a growing team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation
  • Flexibility
