The Speech-Language Pathologist position is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, specifically in the division of Children’s Rehabilitation Service (CRS). This position serves both our CRS Anniston and CRS Gadsden offices and includes the Augmentative Communication Technology Clinic, Feeding Clinic, Speech Pathology Clinic, and Autism Diagnostic Clinics. Work is performed both in the offices and in the community. Diagnostic clinics are interdisciplinary, and therapy is referred out to vendors. Ages birth-21 are primarily served; however, we serve adults enrolled in our Vocational Rehab (VR) or State of AL Independent Living (SAIL) programs for continued AAC evaluations.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Speech-Language Pathology AND one year of experience working in Speech-Language Pathology with a concentration in diagnosing and treating speech-language disorders. ABESPA licensure and ASHA CCCs are required. Copies of both certificate and licensure must accompany the application.
