JOB INFORMATION: The Speech-Language Pathologist position is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, specifically in the division of Children’s Rehabilitation Service (CRS).  This position serves both our CRS Anniston and CRS Gadsden offices.  Augmentative Communication Technology Clinic, Feeding Clinic, Speech Pathology Clinic, and Autism Diagnostic Clinics are the primary clinics the SLP will work in these offices.  Work is performed both in the offices and in the community.  Diagnostic clinics are interdisciplinary, and therapy is referred out to vendors. Ages birth-21 are primarily served; however, we serve adults enrolled in our Vocational Rehab (VR) or State of AL Independent Living (SAIL) programs for continued AAC evaluations.  This position has excellent benefits, including: state retirement, state holidays, state insurance benefits, along with flex time, on-the-job training, and multiple opportunities for obtaining CEUs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Speech-Language Pathology AND one year of experience working in Speech-Language Pathology with a concentration in diagnosing and treating speech-language disorders.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association AND Possession of Licensure issued by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology (ABEPSA).  Copies of both certificate and licensure must accompany the application.  Applications without licensure and certification will be returned.
