JOB DESCRIPTION
The faculty member in this position provides clinical supervision and instruction to graduate students of all levels in the Au.D. program; provides direct, billable client services to adult and pediatric populations in all areas of audiology; evaluates students according to ASHA guidelines and competencies; engages in scholarship; and provides service to the Department, College, and University.


PREFERRED SKILLS
These skills are not required, but preferred:
● Pediatric evaluation and treatment
● Pediatric and adult cochlear implant evaluation and mapping
● Pediatric and adult amplification
● Auditory processing disorder evaluation and intervention


EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
● Supervise and instruct Au.D. graduate students during clinical experiences to ensure quality training
● Determine clinical direction and provide feedback of students’ clinical performance
● Provide direct, billable client services in the USA Speech and Hearing Center, and complete required medical documentation/reports
● Meet with students and be available during scheduled student appointments
● Maintain compliance with ASHA certification requirements
● Give scholarly presentations at regional or state conferences


MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION
Master’s degree in Audiology, Au.D., and/or Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from an accredited university; preferred three or more years of experience related to the above described duties AND eligibility for Alabama state licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA. An Au.D. or Ph.D. are preferred; however, candidates with a Master's degree will be considered for this position if the Master's degree was the terminal degree at the date conferred.
